Crash if sound on, etc

Pentium 3, Intel motherboard, with built in sound and graphics card, Intel 82815 Graphics Controller

EU2 runs perfectly on my system, sound and everything.

Game crashed when it was initializing sound. Impossible to start up.

Tried the config program, didn't get it to start. Application Manager tells me its running, but I can access it. Have to cancel it via alt+ctrl+del

Had to edit the config file manually, and set sound SOUND_OFF

Game now works! I have sound effects, but no mp3 (music at least)

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I think it has to do with a bug with some music thingie, anyways oits well know and should be fixed soon (1.02?)
