Have attempted to mod some stuff, everything from events and historical files to adding provinces. Everytime, wether I have added GFX or not, the game crashes when loading, at "Processing Flags". I have tried deleting the flagfiles, merging my mod with another (hoping that it was just the mod file wich was doing badly), checking through everything I have added or edited atleast twice, in short doing everything I know off. The pattern is that as soon as I either add a "extend =" in a mod file, the game will crash at "Processing Flags". Other mods without any of my stuff run fine, so does the game itself. I am writing exactly the same things as other modders in the MOD-file, though obviously changing what is extended and the mod's name, but to no avail. Anyone who knows why?
 
I don't think it crashes when it's actually processing flags, but when it starts to load the next thing. I'm not sure what the next thing is, but you could try testing your mod bit by bit. Start by writing only your mod name and extend = common in your MOD file. If this works, the common folder is fine. Then press on with the next folder, and try to find the error. Takes some time, but at least you'll be able to locate your errors.
 
What I'd do is start up an unmodded game. Once you get to the main menu, quit. Then, go to your EUR directory, find the 'logs' subfolder and create a copy of setup.log (rename it to setup-vanilla.log or something).

Then, start up your modded game and let it crash. Go to setup.log and compare it to your setup-vanilla.log file and figure out which file it was processing at the time of the crash.

Might also pay to check error.log, but even the vanilla game has a few strange errors logged in there by default so it might not be of much use.

Any chance of letting us know how you sorted it out ?

I have got something similar happening at the moment. Is it to do with the mod file cammand line:

extend = "gfx"

EDIT: I found the problem. Had the mod directory name wrong. :eek:o
