Crash to desktop after clicking on Campaign

Hi, I have read quite a few threads in this forum about what I am experiencing with the game. I did a fresh install then patched it with 1.07 and when I start the game, all is fine until I click on the country. Once I do that, the game exits to the desktop. I have the Strategy First version. Running XP Pro, 512M DDR, AMD Athlon 2.4G, latest version of Direct X, video card is a Radeon 7500 with the latest catalyst drivers. Any ideas? Thanks

First thing to try is always renaming the AVI folder to AVI_back.

Sorry for the late reply. Was at work. I did that and now the game works fine. I'm assuming there is a problem with the videos? Thanks alot for the help. Appreciated.

Not the video, the program that plays them, it can stay in memory and mess things up on some system/operating system combinations.
