*Sigh* Alright, I'm not sure what's happening, or if I'm doing something wrong, but this is what the crash spits out when I run it from Steam in the terminal.

Again, not sure what this is. I get no warning prior to it happening; sometimes it's ten minutes in, others it's after the better part of an hour. I'll click the mouse and suddenly no more game.

Thought I should say something, because this is an awesome game and it's even more awesome that there's a native version of it available.

Thanks.

Another one: is the Linux version now officially available? Because I've not heard so if it is. And of the Steam client?

Try to figure out or remember exactly what you were going to do/going to click on. It might give us a clue on where to start looking. Thanks in advance :)

Oh wow, thanks for the quick response!

I've done a bit more playing around and it seems like this is the same problem that was reported in another tech support post ("Linux CTD when opening/closing tabs")
It happens when I press buttons to open, close or switch between the tabs in the window on the left side of the screen.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS with ~4 Gb of RAM and integrated graphics. The game runs well otherwise, as far as I've seen.

Hello - I get a reliable crash when I start the first basic instruction in the tutorial, and click on the coat of arms under my avatar.

My error.log also says:

Alrighty, I don't know if it's "on-topic", but I'm getting the crash when I click on the coat of arms under the avatar in the basic tutorial, altough on Widnows 8. Same happens if I click the avatar on the next tooltip.

I just installed it, and it won't start... just briefly flashes black. I ran it in the Terminal and this is what I get:

I run mint 13 cinnamon on a dell xps 13 (intel integrated graphics)

First you need to check game logs in "/home/USERNAME/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/logs".

Than try to run ck2 directly though console, without Steam "/home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader Kings II/ck2".
strace and gdb could be useful too.

Alright I checked the log and here is the text from the error log (game.log is empty):

It won't let me run through the console without steam. I get a brief flash of the terminal, and from what I can catch in the half second flash it says "failed: unable to locate Steam or steam client"

Alright I checked the log and here is the text from the error log (game.log is empty)
First you need to get latest Mesa drivers:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valve#Intel_Graphics
Than you need to use "verify integrity of game cache" in steam to determine that you have latest version of game, because there was problem with wrong shader (fixed with update).
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...-Bad-macro-in-standardfuncsgfx.fxh&p=14870931

Game just should work on HD3000, it's work on my own notebook.
So you need try to find out what wrong, as long as your video card isn't officially supported, there is no word about Intel card in official system requirements.
