I need some more information to figure out what the problem is.

1. Post your dxdiag
2. What were you doing when it crashed? running, paused, just clicked a button?
3. Have you had this problem before 1.2?
4. Post the last couple of entries in logs/error.log if any

This sounds exactly like an overheating problem of your graphics card. Are you able to check its temperature somehow? (I am not familiar with what tools come with the ati drivers).

Have you played any other modern games lately? Do they experience similar problems?
