Edit your settings.txt file and set multisampling=0
 
In the Rome directory is a file settings.txt . Open that with Notepad and look for the line that starts multisampling= , whatever is after the = make it a 0 (zero).

Ok I set multisampling at zero and it still crashes after i select a unit. Here is my settings txt.

Ok, please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here, down to include the Sound Devices section only. Also your Rome system.log file, thanks.
