Im playing Doomsday but i used to get this issue in the original HOI2 as well!
I was playing as USSR and was getting my arse handed to me for 4 years. I finally managed to encircle and destroy most of the Wermacht and took Berlin and all the other oppressed countries. Just as Germany surrendered and i started planning invasion of the UK and USA.... its CRASHED! and because i have save on for every 10 months (i think) it didnt save any of my conquests so i was back on the border again GER-USSR again just before i launched operation 'Total Revenge' (my name for striking back at GER).

So i thought hell with that, i downloaded the latest update and started playing fresh but.... same story! I was in year 1943, and was starting to kick but(due to the lessons learned from previous game ), went to save game and >No Deal Eddie< it CRASHED AGAIN! WTF i say!

Is there a fix or a patch or a update or a.......... banana salad, that i can download to fix this re-occurring problem cause its giving me the ..... -> rimes with 'bits' ! ! ! !

what my biggest issue that most of the games that have crashed, i cant get back into them afterwards! The game just freezes while im trying to load it up! SO most of my games are always half finished and never actually FINISHED! Frustrating to the max!

Thanks for coming over here.

1. Can you please post a DXDiag. Here is what you do. Go to Start and choose Run. In the box type in DXDIAG. A window will open with information about your system. There is a box in the bottom that says Save All information. Click it. Save the file to your desktop. Open the file in Notepad and copy and paste here all the text up until it says Sound devices.

Need to know what you have to start diagnosing this.

Also please confirm that you are Playing Doomsday.... and what version of the patch you are running and where you got this patch.

I've also had problems with Doomsday (v1.3a) crashing twice this evening. I think it's happened when I've clicked one of the buttons at the top of the page, like Intelligence folder or new unit pool. It goes to a black screen, error message then returns to Windows. Game year's been late 1942/early 1943.

I autosave monthly and often more besides, but it's still annoying. I try to give the same orders to my troops as before the crash, even if I know I'm sending my troops into certain defeat, which is painful! A month is a long time in war...

For what it's worth here's my DXDIAG analysis report:

same same

ye amine's still dropping out! so annoying, its the best game ever made i think but i cant play it properly! drives me up the wall!

I think its something to do with the actual PC and the software u have on it as the drivers or patches u have on there, they must not be liking eachoter!

just a quick heads-up...
I recently reinstalled my windows on the PC and HOI2-Doomsday was one of the software i installed first. After that, after each instalation of different software i tried running HOI to see what might be causing the crashing.... i believe i narrowed it down to my anti-virus software!
I've got Trend Micro, once i disabled it the game seemed to run fine...so far. Im up to 1942 now and still no problems. Just before i reformated my comp, it was starting to crash out at the end of 1941 at least once and then after that its pretty much impossible to get back into the game!

Try to disable ur anti-virus and just do what i did, pull ur internet cable out of the wall while ur playing it... Just a thought
