Crashing on load

I use Windows XP and recently reintalled EUII, with patch 1.09. When I try to load a saved game, EUII crashes back to the Windows desktop. I heard that EUII does not work well with Windons XP... my computer runned on a different Windows version before and I did not have any problems of this type...Do you have any idea of what may be going on?

Where did you hear that? It's not true.

Is it only loading from a saved game that crashes? If so, just one particular one or any saved game?

Are you using any modifications or edits?

Have you renamed the AVI directory then rebooted?
