Crashing to Desktop or OH NO! NOT AGAIN!

Can you confirm for me that you have done the following and kept those settings.

1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.

The AVI folder should be a sub folder of your main HOI folder, if you do not have one something is wrong with the install or you have a Pirate copy.

There maybe a second copy of the editor, other wise the current one was the wrong version for that patch.

Most people use a text editor to do modding anyway.

I looked for HoI.exe. but i didnt see it. I also couldnt find it on my comp files search.

What files are in your HOI directory that have custom icons?

Also make sure you have nothing running in the back ground especially virus protection.

Don't worry I knew that, since I had logged it when the same thing happened in Beta. But was a little concerned when he cliamed he did not have and HOI.exe file in his HOI folder. There are some "special" versions out thier that do not.

Repeatable crashs belong in the Bug forum, and in here we start a new thread for each new problem, in the bug forum do look for one already open on the subject first.

Depends on your config and there are things that can be done.
