I'm running the UK version 1.07c and my system crashes to desktop at one point in the game (after playing for more hours than I care to remember) when offering peace to the French as the English(hardcoded? ;-)). I've reloaded and tried it a few times, but it crashes on the same action. Anyone else getting this?
 
I think talking to yourself is one of the first signs of madness, but I'll risk it anyway. I've noticed another crash to desktop in UK 1.07c, this time it came when I hit the 'history' button for an historical event dialogue box. My system is usually very stable, so I think it is more likely to be a problem with the game. Admittedly these crashes have come after several days of long play in one scenario (too long!? I think my girl friend thinks I'm having an affair, since I haven't seen her for so long.)
