That does sound like a hell of work you're having to do considering the pain in the ass that it will be dealing with all the bugs, but considering the new DLC content it can be pretty epic a new Crisis of The Confederation, i assume that some of the graphics can be reused, specially the traits, religions, government etc, ofc they arent everlasting and can be improved but they can give a somewhat good filling for the gfx at first. But what i do think it will he harder is the interface part, considering how the "A New Crisis of The Confederation" (that died last year i think) had them almost completelly broke .

Eitherways, im not expert modder or graphic designer, currently still learning, i desire you good luck on your endeavour.

it will be hard, it will be ugly but I think that a deticatet team that works on the project can achive a revival of the mod

Possible, if the mod does well my plannes are to expand the timeline into the "past" aka 2200 and into the future well past 3200

Perhaps rewriting all code from the bottom is much easier, just like what they do for CK2+.

This. A lot of the code for CoTC, is way way way out of date. There's old, buggy coding for features in the mod that are now actual working features in vanilla CK2. It might be a lot easier to just start from the ground up to recreate the mod while just salvaging the art, map, and model assets.

To be honest, if I don´t find a team I can´t even start a rewrite, because my modding skills are not so good that I can take on a total conversion as a one man team

As someone who was there for the original and the two reboots, I wish you much luck in your quest to bring the Confederation into the current version of CKII.

I still occasionally play the last playable version of the original every now and then, and it still holds up in my view. Just wish it integrated all those things Galle had planned when he was making the mod originally.

I might be able to help if someone is able to make basic things like map and characters history work. I am not an experienced modder when it comes to CK2 (besides some minor personal modification I have made) but I worked a bit on Victoria 2 so it shouldn't be hard to get into CK2 modding since it has a lot of quality of life improvements when it comes to codding. At the beggining I could do something simple like Religions and Governments, maybe later Societies and some custom systems. My time is limited due to university but I can try to do something :)

Any help is welcome, and some one who can do the map modding would be a good additon to the team

Cluld very well be... However then again you could argue it would be fitting for euIV too

Not really, since its a very character focused mod it would be rather lackluster if remade to fit EUIV. I've played several mods that have both a CK and EU version, and the CK version is always superior when it comes to this sort of thing. Imperator might work since its a go between the two games, but EU would definitely not fit very well.

The Focus are characters, neither Imperator nor EU4 can bring us this

But not the character depth we want. We can´t give the player the ability to play as the ruler of a certain area, only nations, if we make the mod for Imperator. And look at AGOT for Colonization and we can find a way to represent population.

Update: I added a working but buggy version of the mod to the OG post
