I keep seeing the message "Crop Failure - No edible food has been harvested"

Why? It's fully staffed, has power and water... and the failure seems pretty constant, I have four Farms and the message seems to pop up every season.

What can I do to reduce/get rid of the failures?

Did you set potato and suck the soil quality down to zero? Crop failures are tremendously rare if your farms are fully staffed, by which I mean every work slot filled for the entire season. Less than that and you get a chance at failure.

Soil quality good, I alternate crops, and grow cover crops immediately after potatoes, and constantly 100% staffed.

Maybe the problem has gone away, it doesn't seem to have happened this last season.... which seems a first.

My best guess. You had colonists shuffling around and a few of the progress ticks happened when understaffed. Then when the time came you rolled a natural 1 and the DM decided to kill your character.

I could really do with the food production stats not jumping around like they are on pogo sticks.

I don't understand why it varies so much over small amounts of time, when posted the OP it was ~70, then when I replied about soil quality it was 14, now as I write this its 224, and in the mean time I've done absolutely nothing at all, just been watching, waiting and posting here.
