Before Action report

Svea Rike​

This is the tale of the Svitjod and Gauthjod crowns, the crown of Stenkil, Duke of Västergötland, son of Astrid Njalsdotter and jarl Ragnvald Ulfsson.
He has two sons, Halsten and Inge "the older".

The sources from this time is not so well so let's create the new history of Sweden.

Duchies: Västergötland(the King's, Uppland(Enigma's), Småland(Seen's), Bergslagen(AI) and Norrland(AI)
Religion: Semi-christian, hehe the country is still influenced by the old barbarian civilization we were.
Swedish interest: the old viking areas, Baltic and Soumi
Threats: Kingdom of Norway and Kingdom of Denmark.

BAR of Smaland

The Great, but acctually very Small Småland is on a road to Glory, Might , Fame, and a lot of women. Feritile Women from Smalland are gonna give to this dynesty the man it needs to protect this young Realm.

Smalland habits and customs are best shown by the ancient picture i will show you below,

As you can see we Man from Smaland are ugly as hell, but its the inside that counts my mommy always told me.....

So, the time has come to show you the official Smaland flag, will be infamous around the world for its harshness with Family and Friends, but of course also with or enemy's. But surely LESS brutal then we will handle or King if he dares to raise taxes....

Future plans , well, we claim the Baltic obviously, but we will focus on the land of the future , which is already righfully ours, Finland.

Swedish crown - AAR

Short session but both good and bad. Good because we expanded our realm with Jämtland and Lappland, gave those to my Duke in north, well can't remember the name...Norrland it is! The bad events were that dysentery was spread in both Västergötland and Närke.

Many buildings were done before the dysentery was spread but now the production is on "vacation".

My not so exciting years as the Duke of Uppland, a short summary:

Love life
This was perhaps the most interesting aspect of my reign, and not because of the reasons you may think of. I had in my regrettable wisedom had not edited myself a wife for this scenario, I had to find one. I searched all over Britain before I realized I had to take one of the standard wives available in the scenario or I would practically spend several years looking for a decent wife. Then a bolt of lightning suddenly struck me with the fact that the Danish King's daughters were quite nice ones for the start of the scenario. Second thought however cooled this down since the Danish King was played by a human player; thus he would certainly think twice before marrying he great daughter away to a petty duke. Nevertheless, in my desperation I tried. Regardless of the odds, I succeeded. For some reason the King of Denmark had accepted the I thought I didn't have to worry a lot more about marriage for a while.

Certainly I was wrong. Similar to some historical examples of kings who only got daughters, so did most of the years until 1076 pass. That is, I got a huge number of daughters and bastard sons. The daughters are nice if they have good stats, but that do not help if the dynasty cannot be carried further on by the next generation. Also, I did get two sons. Both were bastards and the fruit of unchallenged whoring by a court mistress and my lustful duke. When the Danish wife approached the age of 30 I was soon ready to kill her regardless of her avenging father, the Danish King. Fortunately, I never had to because the last year of the children she bore me a son to the great happiness of the nobility of my fair 'domain' (which by the way I think is the English variation of the word 'demesne'.

Economy
The economy has been strengthened with whatever means available. Unfortunately most of my income is paid to my liege; therefore the entire exponential development of my domain is delayed. The castle where the ducal family lives is still a shitty motte-and-baily; neither are there any close plans of expanding this place since the craftmen in Uppland apparently lacks the skill to understand the basics of stoneworks. Furthermore there was a great lack of intellectual knowledge in the domain since no schools or roads have been established, and then mostly as a result of lacking technology there too. In fact, my people seem to have a level of sophistication below the bronze age people.

Joohoo's scutage drives me nuts:

Warfare
Sorry to say, there was no warfare what-so-ever. Economic devlopment is more prioritized than the addition of new Pagan lands to my realm; Uppland does not yet possess the richness or the manpower or the technology to perform a successful campaign against the heathens. Additonally it turned out that my character is that of a coward (though it is a lustful, forgiving coward). Nontheless I don't see any military campaigns anywhere soon since the now culmulative rule about Pagan warfare will mean I can conquer a many more provinces at once in a few years.

Smaland

Smaland , The Founding Years

Obviously, We , the great small nation of Smaland, pictured ourselfs a decent and little space in history. So we went on with or small arguments on how undecent the Scrutanige was of Joohoo, lousy King of the North, and how Lustfull or Ruler was, Jon of Smaland. Then rumor was in the castle that the lady , whatwashername, had told our lord that she was , again, in labour of a GIRL. Of course , she could only guess.. but woman do know this kind of things...well doesnt matter, or lord was furious...and by some excident or lady was killed. No one was in tears about it, she wasnt pretty (from Smaland obviously) and she wasnt nice. So our Lord looked many years for a decent wife. After 6 long years, finally , in ONE offer Emma of Normandy accepted to marry. We must add that she got another offer from the most ugly lord of or continent, the brother of Joohoo, which she cleary without explanation refused....

On the DIPLOMATIC front , Joohoo, our king, made another mistake, he tried to revoke a title on Finnveden, altough the poorest prov on the continent, we refused of course. This prov was in the custody of our family for many generations, what did the king thought??? Well, he apologized, gave us some money in compensation, but then the ignorance Duke of Uppland was complaining. Surely the King would ignore his call , his crying. But guess what, he didnt!! he gave that duchy the same as we got , as it was US who got offended....this king has a lot to learn....

Well, we married Emma even Joohoo tried something else, she gave me, a perfect son and we were happy ever after...

Well, and of course Smaland, though small, did war , we counquered the heathens, and made them a part of Sweden and Smaland. Or only hope rests in the respect of our claims on the rest of the baltic ( to the king of denmark) will be reckoned with....

actually, i gave Duke of Småland like 50 gold and Duke of Uppland 40 gold, hah! I am sory of the Finnveden, i thought (in my dream) that i could take the province and make a vassal for you, but obviously it is impossible for me to make a vassal to you

The Swedish Royal family

After eleven years Halsten, king of Sweden have done a lot of good deeds in his royal courtier, he find a pretty wife in the court for himself, he found brides to his three brothers, Erik, Håkon and Inge. On Halsten's on front he used his bed four times, first, the successor, Johan, then Kristina who died later, then Borkvard and last Elof, this is the current status.

It was much critism against my low scutage i must say, as we only have two provinces in our demesne we must have high taxes, remember we live in Sweden and i can't let my dukes have more income than myself.

Joohoo you have the richest province in Sweden (regarding Skåne as Danish). Furthermore, I wouldn't say my 3 income compares very well to 9 income for you.

thank you, it took some a little time to do it but it is worth every mouseclick.

Lets make it a AAR thread again

Smaland - A tale of a lustfull Man, a female loving women, and a lot of sick children.

Some people said it somethimes just not happens. Duke Jon disagreed. The problem was clearly not his faulth. He, 50 year old,

producer of 8 official and some bastards at the court of Uppland, wasnt responsible for this. But what to do? 5 of his 8 kids died. More important, 2 of those where his only heirs.

This sick unstable Emma of Normandy was clearly to blame...but what to do...To focus his mind he the though soldier had to kill some pagans.

Wenn returned now as duke of Smaland and Prussia, he decided it was time to do something. He hired the best assasin in the land.

But guess what! Just wenn he wanted to put the knife in the back of my unworthy wife, he tripped and fell on his own knife. Altough i thought, Good, now at least i wont be discovered, he, for some ethical Murder thingy with his last breath told my not so late wife! Darn them! Curse them!

So, the assasination failed, I was a Kinslayer, people hate me...But fortune for me my wife wasnt that bright (or it was the abundance of wine...) and after a month of the assasination she was praignant again. I say its a sign of god! He wants my dynesty to continue in fool glory! I pity the girl that dares to come out of that hole....They know im a kinslayer already so be aware! hehe...revenge will be sweet....

PS: fortunatly another sign of god came in the form of a CTD for the host, so im kinslayer off again ...lets try again....

Hail Johan, new king of Sweden, the eriksgata through Sweden was a successful trip, every landskap(province) accepted the new king and the happy saga continued when Johan married the Ingrid, daughter of king of Norway. Kids is under development

My vassals fighted for the Baltic but i think they solved it. Myself invaded southwest Finland and Ösel, the "mighty" island.

Current situation (with dead childs and girls...) suggest the line of Jon will not continue. instead a talented General will take over with at his side my daughter. He will rule the dukedom of Smaland (which is still big...) and the dukedom of Prussia (which is missing Danzig) with Militairy brutality. Let there children be healthy and more importantly male!!! (putting some nice pics here later......Gays stay around )

Also we a grand half nice of the brother which cook daughter married a stableboy who knew a boy which happened to be the grand grand nephew of the duke of Gwynned. We will assure that this title come in the right hands again! All hail The real duke of Gwynned!
