After I play about 20 years or so in Crusader Kings the game starts to lagg and when the new month arrives the game stops for a few seconds before it continues. This have started to annoy me especially when I am at war with the English vassals in Spain. (The Pope started a crusade to liberate Spain. And now Andalucia has become English :p ) How can I stop this annoying lagg?

Playing DV, patch 2.0

Welcome to the forum !

There is not much you can do, the game 'purges' 'old and useless' characters from the save-game, at the end of each month. That is why you notice a lagg, everybody has that.

The reason why there is this 'purge' is because else the 'save-game' file would get to big

The lag is beginning to wear on me as well, is there anyway we can get rid of it somehow?

I immediately noticed that lag with Deus Vult. I don't remember having the lag in Crusader Kings. If there was, it was a split second. The one in Deus Vult is like two seconds. One time it froze my game and upon an exit to the desktop, I was greeted with a fatal error.

I wish the game would purge every six months rather than every month. Or even three months would be nice.
