CTD: 1.03b + Windows XP

I get a CTD whenever i try to begin a new campaign.

The tutorial works "fine" (it also has some bugs... )

My computer:
Windows XP + SP2 + all updates from Microsoft/IBM

Pentium III 1.0Ghz
128MB RAM
S3 SuperSavage
Intel integrated SoundCard
I'm playing as "Administrator"

Do you guys need some kind of debugging info, or something?

First thing to try, is rename the AVI folder to AVI_back.
Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Audio and Video cards. Also update your operating system with all the recommended updates.

If that does not work I need a little more info like What version of DirectX you are running and the driver version of your video and Audio cards. And who is the publisher of your version.

Also when does it crash, what does it say at the bottom of the screen.

Nothing.

I have directx8.1 and the latest drivers from IBM.

Anyway i restarted the game a couple of times and finally managed to start a campaign with Italy. It hasn't crashed since then.
