CTD after game load

I'm sorry to bug you, but I've got a weird and somehow seroius problem with starting the game. Namely, I've played EU2 a year ago and everything was OK. I uninstalled it then and even reinstalled my OS (an usual yearly routine to keep my system in good health). All my drivers are up to date and the system is working fine (I can play HOI2 withou any problems)

Recently I decied to try EU2 again but something is wrong as the game CTD to desktop as soon as I try and load a scenario. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling and playing vanilla game (1.07 in my case, without any mods or patches but the game still CTD. I applied both 1.08 and 1.08b but still I can't seem to get the damn thing working. I even turned off the music as suggested but to no avail.

Is there any advice you can give me? I would really appreciate any...

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

I did as you have suggested and now EU2 works (changing color depth from 16-32 seems to be the catch). But as soon as I install AGC mod and run it the game CTD. Any clues?

Well you would have to talk to them about that, we do not support user made mods.
You do have to make sure you have the correct patch installed for the version of the mod you are using.

Well most of thier problems come down to the user not installing correctly or a bug in the data, so not much I can do.
