CTD when saving

Just so I have this straight, if you try to save a game manually, the game will CTD?

If you start a brand new game and try to save after a month do es it crash or is it just in that game you were playing?
 
But you said you were able to load the autosave so the autosave must have worked at some point.
And do you mean that scenario or that particular game of that scenario?
 
So it sounds like the game is getting corupted and some point during that period and then when saving crashes because of the coruption trying to write itself to file.

Can you narrow down the date to anything more specific?
 
Strange indeed. IF there was some problem with your HD index it could be it has been resolved, perhaps run a diagnostic on the HD looking for lost allocation units.
 
Right click on drive- properties-tools-error checking.
 
Is there an event or some action you do during the time between when it works and when it crashes?
 
It could not hurt to reinstall, maybe to the default Drive and Directory as well.

Also it could just be something messed up with that particular game, maybe try a new one and see if you have the same problem.
 
Reinstall and apply the latest patch start a new game and you should be okay.
