I hesitate to list this as a bug because I did such a silly thing - but I am still curious as to why it works that way.
1) I am an Orthodox king.
2) I claimed the Pope's title.
3) I seized it from him in a war, making me the Pope. I also seized the Bishop of Rome title.
4) I granted my Orthodox son the title of bishop of Rome.
5) I then granted him the title of Pope.
Now I have an Orthodox Pope. Of course, all of his successors are Catholic, but that's besides the point.
My problem:
I have the option to claim the title of Bishop of Rome from him, but I do not have the option to claim the title of Pope from him. It doesn't say I already have a claim to it in the mouseover, simply that I can't do it. Why?
