Background: I have a Mac and have been playing Stellaris for five years on it without issue, I'm using all expansion packs. Since the update when I try to open Stellaris the mouse cursor doesn't change into the stellaris cursor and looks the same as if I was just browsing on my desktop. When the main menu opens after the loading screen I can't click on anything.

Weirdly the only way to get it to work is to launch in windowed mode. Then it works, but I can't see the full screen so that isn't a long-term solution. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. Also I wasn't sure whether this should be a tech support or a bug support question so let me know if I should go into more detail in a bug report instead.

Try setting the resolution in fullScreen display mode to match that of the Mac's desktop. Does that help?

Nope, my mac's default resolution (1440x900) is the only resolution it lets me set when I go full screen.
I have this issue (sort of) as well. Although you can force it to work if double-clicking fast.
However! I have found a proper fix.

Just CMD+TAB out of the game to some other window.
Then cmd+tab back into the game.
If it worked, your cursor should be the Stellaris one instead of your default cursor.

Everything should work now. Hopefully, this helps you!

I just discovered I'm having the same problem, mostly. I'm using a iMAC/Magic Mouse and Stellaris just started being very bad about recognizing left mouse clicks. Some times it does, mostly it doesn't. Right mouse clicks seem to work fine. Mouse clicks don't work at all on the main menu screen. I believe it may have something to do w/ MacOS Monterey. This just started when I upgraded to the never MacOS version. The game works fine on my work computer which is exactly the same as my home computer. But work is still running macOS Big Sur. No mouse problems. Both computers are running the latest version of Stellaris off Steam.

I'll try some of the solutions suggested here. But any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
