Sorry to ask the obvious, but I haven’t been to the forum in a while, and I see all these threads about new custom maps for EU2. I thought that the map was unalterable. I’ve had a quick look over the threads, and they all seem to assume common knowledge about how to edit the EU2 map. I’ve missed the common knowledge. Can someone point me to wherever the information is explaining that this can now be done, and how to do it. I’ve always thought it would be great  to make up scenarios with custom maps (though, I’m sure, a lot of work).

Here are results of the research about decoding of content of Eu2 map files
(a bit of theory never hurts :) ):
http://www.inferis.org/eu2/tbl/

And here are tools made for manipulation with the Eu2 map (tools you need for import/export):

Here is easy tutorial how make the custom map and how import/export it:

And here is launcher you need to be able launch the map from mod in game
(or you can replace the original map by your new map):

EDIT:
And here you will learn why the AGCEEP does not have a new map, yet.
That was absolutely out of topic. Just a dirty and spamming advertisement :p

Thank you to both Third Angel and KaRei for the information. I will try to check those links this weekend. I appreciate the help.

That was a long story. :)

A map editor was finally achieved in late 2004 or early 2005.
How long exactly have you been absent?

Well, for some reason, I cannot access the list of my posts from my profile page, so it’s hard to say. I did a Google search of the site for ragged-gothic, and, other than the posts I’ve done in the last few days, and a couple of birthday mentions, the only posts I could find were a couple to the HOI forums in 2006. I couldn’t even find any old postings on the EU2 or EU pages. So...yeah...it’s been a while.

 Sorry, but I don’t even know what AGCEEP even means. Thanks again for the help, though. :)

Were the AGC (Alternative Grand Campaign) or EEP (Event Exchange Project) around when you were here last? AGCEEP was formed from their merger in 2003 or 2004.

And if you don't know about the AGCEEP and you didn't know about new maps, maybe you also don't know about the release of the source code?
