In each transit Mode (trains, Metro, buses) will there be more than one look?
For example: trains
will all trains look the same in game? Will we have the option to mod a different skin/model and import that into the game?
Can we choose between different looking models or even choose specifically a style for each line/route.
It would be great to be able to mod my own looking train so I can copy my home town, but I wouldn't want it to write over the existing game style.
Maybe this could be implemented by deciding on a specific shed for each train type on a particular line... Maybe add it onto a station. The more you add on the more trains you have available on that line.

Same thing for buses - a different shelter for each style of bus that you add to a busport to determine which style is used and how many buses that busport has. Maybe even select each shelter to draw the route from...

This would really add a realism to the game and allow details to be added without becoming too technical. If you're happy with the default game style then you don't need to add any sheds/shelters.

This could even extend to airports: different hanger for different types of jets.
Similar ideas for trams/boats/Ports if they arrive in game in the future (maybe a dedicated expansion pack for transportation that introduces a more complex transport system to the game, closer to the structure of cities in motion - I would pay another $30 for that expansion (maybe more) and it would be a great optional add on for people to get)

This would really make the game stand out on a level of customisation - simcity had modules but they weren't really customizable and if you imported a new mesh/skin/model it over wrote everything. So bland!

Just an after thought for trains: you could even have a train Depot that needs to be connected by rail to all the stations. Without it you would not habe any trains running. Makes more logical sense then simcity where trains just appear out of nowhere.

I totally agree that we need different vehicles in public transport too. In SimCity 4 every bus is exactly the same which looks really dull. I doubt any real major city has a bus fleet of just one model. The Cities in Motion games on the other hand have plenty of variety some of which I hope is transferred into Skylines. Seeing vehicles of different age and capasity can also be informative and tell you how well you're funding your public transportation. And, of course, this variety will also help in making the city feel alive.

I like the idea of making vehicles such as buses, cabs ,trains ,planes, boats and transport trucks have an identity with names ,logos, and colours that you can identify with captions telling you their status on schedule destination time , people count and prophets that they achieve. The simulator can cululate if the company's doing well or not.
