A practical question; does Dany get her fertility back somehow?

As I understand it, she's had her fertility set to zero after Khal Drogo dies, which makes sense in terms of the book. However, since she's the last unambiguously real Targaryen, if she is unable to have children a campaign as her would be restricted to a single character. Which would kinda suck, and be somewhat limiting (no inheriting claims, no ability to rebuild the Targaryen dynasty, one mistake away from game over at all times).

Reactions:
Dany's alleged infertility is not canon. The only fact that the books support is that Dany thinks she must be infertile and bases her belief on a curse in which she obviously believes. Her believing in the curse does not implicate the validity of the curse in any way. ASOIAF is fantasy but not every single dream or prophecy and neither every piece of gimmick is magic. GRRM is too clever a writer to fall into these kinds of clichés.

But as far as I understand, the devs have used their artistic licence to make interpretations and decided that Dany is infertile. I read somewhere in the old superthread that the decision is final. But every decision is final only until deemed otherwise. :) I hope they revisit this decision some time in the future.

Anyway, Dany can get lover events in the game which allow her to get pregnant, even if normal pregnancy is out of the question.

A Dance with Dragons spoiler:
In the end of the book it is very clear that she is menstruating (although some believe she is having a miscarriage) but both of these possibilities speak about the fact that she is not at least totally barren. We may very well see her pregnant in the upcoming books. At least then the devs have to remove her infertility (unless they judge that she is infertile between her miscarriage and this speculative pregnancy - that way they could claim that have made no misjudgement!). We have hope!

D'oh, right, it's (probably) all in her head. Sometimes I get mixed up about what characters believe and what's actually "true", so to speak.

Still, she does have 0% fertility in the mod, so the practical part of the question stands.

There's nothing stopping you from editing your save file, or even the mod files, to give Dany fertility. They can't stop you from doing that. It's what I did when I wanted to play Dany.

You could even use pollinate (or cuckoo). It's silly that she has no fertility; at least, permanently. While normally, I'm against using console commands... this is an exception.

She is not actually permanently infertile; there are many events and traits that increase a character's fertility and any of these will render Dany fertile.

Prince Michael, I was under the impression it could even have been the pale mare. Could it not?
She had been at "Dragonstone" for a long time already and the symptons had not showed previously. Besides, Barristan doesn't have it, which would make sense if Dany had catched it outside of the walls.

Also, I'm curious as to how the mod will depict him. Will he start out as Arstan Whitebeard and have an event give him the Barristan portait or simply have him as Barristan already, as the show did? And how will Dany's Queensguard be imported?

Well, in a Winds of Winter game;

I remember Dany gave birth to quite a few children after she married and fell in love with my
Young Griff/Aegon
, also leading my armies to victory with her dragons!

I've had a character marry Dany have kids with her as well.

In fact, she even wound up becoming her son's mistress after her husband (Young Griff/Aegon) died, because Targaryens.

Granted, this was a very long time ago, and I haven't played the AGOT mod since then, so maybe she didn't have 0 fertility in that version.

because Targaryens

It's not just a Targaryen thing (and I don't mind it one damn bit!), because I had it happen with Jeor and Dacey Mormont (who I married to the Smalljon, playing from the start of the Greatjon's reign). In the end I was generous, giving the 'Of Last Hearth' family Bear Island after the last of the Mormonts died out (they kept marrying Umbers).

I wonder how much of Danyquest you can experience if you go off the rails (that is, does it end the chain completely, or just most of it). Since the above game I mentioned, Dany was left sitting around in Braavos after he brother decided to launch a failed invasion (and then I married her to my Umber heir and had to use the console for kids).

And my first planned Essos game is going to be a Braavosi, so maybe I'll try and marry her again that game.

I'd have to disagree with the idea that it's all in Dany's head and think the devs were 100% right in their making her infertile.

At the end of A Dance of Dragons, it's specifically mentioned that Dany has blood on her leg, meaning she's on her period. Since G.R.R Martin doesn't make a habit of mentioning this for his female characters we can naturally assume it's unusual. Since there is quite some time between the maegi's blood magic and the end of A Dance of Dragons, this definitely points to Dany actually being infertile and it not just being in her head. If she hasn't had her period for a year or more, it's fair to say she's not just imagining it.

And since, at the end of the last book, she has begun to menstruate again, it seems that something has happened to trigger this. In my opinion, this mean the devs got it spot on in the mod.

You do know how menstruation works, correct?
