My friend and I just discovered Evolve, and have been trying to get multiplayer to work through that. We both have Steam versions of Darkest Hour. We can't get it to work on Gameranger, because it doesn't automatically take us into the lobby like in HoI II and Arsenal of Democracy. Hamachi simply doesn't work. With Evolve, we've run into a much different scenario. When I host a LAN game, he can actually see my server in the list; unfortunately, if he tries to join the listed LAN server, his game will simply freeze for a few seconds, then unfreeze. The problem is that this is all that will happen, it just freezes and unfreezes, not allowing him into my server.
I doubt many people have tried Evolve (because I couldn't find any other forum posts about it), but here's the shortened version:
1. Launches game with Evolve on. 2. I start a LAN game. 3. He can see the LAN server. 4. Freezes upon attempting to join, then unfreezes 15-30 seconds later.
This is my first day on Paradoxplaza, so I apologize if I'm not making much sense.
