First off, I must say I really enjoy HoI and Vicky. You do some great
games! I do have a question/bug or two to report with the editor for HoI2
Doomsday with the 1.2 patch. I wanted to edit some of the provinces to make it more like the end of my game I had in Vicky, but didn't port really well.
I'm going to be playing a Grand Campaign of 36 to 53. I've made back up
copies of all the orginal files first.
Any way, when I use the editor the provinces it tries not to save to the
"provinces.xls" folder, but to "world names" Nor can I change the save path. I find this odd. However if I do it in notepad and edit the provinces then save it, then load up the game the changes show up.
When try either in notepad or in the editor to make some minor changes to
the tech teams of the USA. I get the data from /db/tech/team_usa.xls. Which has the listing for all the tech teams. Even if I make the changes and put them there. I start a new game from 1936 as the USA. I check to see if the game is seeing my changes. It doesn't. I took regular HoI 2 off, just in case it was pulling from there. It wasn't. Yet where would I go to make those changes stick? I would think that for a USA game starting in 1936 it would pull a tech team list from db/tech/teams_usa.xls (sorry if I have the pathing wrong, I'm not at the machine that has the game loaded on it). If not here then where?
