Dead explorers

Can I somehow tweak the game, so it´ll actually notify me when a historical explorer or conquistador comes forward and offers his services to England? There appears a small message, which easily gets lost in the info window that informs of these things, but I always seem to miss it, being preoccupied with something else. The only times I noticed these explorers in my first GC was when J. cabot and his son Sevastian, having offered me their services, dropped dead on their historic death dates.

It would be much better if a popup window appeared to inform me of their presence as I´m often busy micromanaging my merchants or somesuch tiresome task.

Hmmm -- get out a history book? g/k Can you not right click on the message in the game log and set it to create a popup window and pause?

Go to the options menu and change your message preferences. There are over 100 different possible messages that you can set to a pop up window if you like.

Yep, changing your message preferences is the way to go. I've also noticed that new explorers/etc always pop up on the first of January, and so pay special attention then for any messages of new leaders of any kind arriving.

There is a special sound too, when you get a new leader.
