Currently I am having a great game as Japan in ARMA 1.3 (beta patch, newest), but I have encountered a very annoying problem - doomstacks.
I know how to encounter most doomstacks, but when they are holed up on an island, I have come across a very strange problem.
Usually, when I have a stack locked on an island, I would cut off their supplies, and let them starve to death, then poke them with a rotten stick. But in this game, namely Hong Kong and Hawaii, I have 40 and 60 divisions locked up on these islands, and I can't seem to kill them off. My subs won't destroy any convoys, nor will my naval bombers. In fact, I seem to have killed off several thousands convoys, but to no effect, it seems.
The american navy is at the bottom of the ocean, but these doomstacks annoy me, since they draw quite a lot of my attention, and divisions (can't have 40 divisions run amok in downtown China, can we?).
So, how do I prevent these from getting supplies, so I can get them to surrender? If I send my airforce towards them, they get slaughtered quite bad (it is veeeery late, so they have good defence.)
So, what are good strategies or tactics to kill off these darned doomstacks, so I can continue my invasion of San Francisco?
