Hi,

I installed HoI2-DD-Arm (anthology) on my laptop and started it. Paradox intro video works fine and when the loading screen and later the menu appears the display is totally deformed in vertical direction.

...thats how it looks. you can guess, were the buttons are, and click em with the mouse. the mouse is displayed properly, but leaves traces.

I think it has something to do with the unusual 3:2 (1200:800) aspect ratio of the laptop screen, but changing it to 1024:768 for example doesn't help.

same problem with HoI1 by the way.

any idea?

thanks, gnacko

\\edit: i forgot some info:
the notebook is an "Asus X50N" with:

-15''4 WXGA screen
-Geforce 7000M; Driver: 6.14.11.7516, May 2008
-Athlon 64 X2 TK53
-1gb ram
-DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
-Win XP Prof SP2

no not exactly, there is a possibility to adjust the scaling. the standard setting "use nvidia scaling" fits the display to the edges of the screen, without cutting pieces away or leaving black stripes. then there is "use nvidia scaling with fixed aspect ratio" (maybe thats what you mean), which leaves black bars at the sides when HoI is started. and the third option "no scaling" puts the game display in the middle with a black are around it.

but all those settings do not change the distorted appearence of the game display, it just becomes thinner/thicker or bigger/smaller.

...when i played with the nvidia control panel and different display modes i also witnessed that i got similar deformation effects on the normal desktop when a video mode is changed:

thats how it looks ...it disappears when i refresh with f5 and it really looks similar to the effect when starting HoI

...so it really seems to be a general issue of my laptop and not only with HoI :(
