I can play Sunday but not more than 4 hours as I have an exam the next morning. 1800 cet is fine with me.

The old DEG-HOI Discussion Thread is actually still around although superbly hidden by Gen. Suvorov deep down in the AAR section. My complements to you Sir! ;)

EDIT: I can also play Thursday evening or 4 hours on Saturday or Sunday daytime.

Sorry guys, cant play at 18 on Sunday. If you realy want to play then I can probably find a replacement. I can play the following days and times:

Thursday 29 May: evening from 18 CET to midnight
Saturday 31 May: daytime from around 8 to 19
Sunday 1 June: daytime from around 8 to 16
Monday 2 June: evening from 18 CET to midnight

Can anybody else play on Thursday or daytime during the weekend?

Sessions...

Since we will have people that are not able to play all the time this is how it will work...

Ordinary sessions are played Monday, Thursday and Sunday at 18.00. Later if needed and adviced beforehand. If a player can't make it he should report it here and over ICQ and also find a standin and give that standin instructions. If you don't have the time... or dedication... to find a standin ask the other players to help you find a standin. If you simply don't show up without notyfying beforehand a standin will be picked from a lobby and your fellow players will be annoyed. If this happens repeateadly your country will be given to a more dedicated player. If more than one player can't make it the rest of the players can decide in unison to cancel the session.

Is this acceptable to all?

Next session:
Thu 29/5 18.00 unless more than one can't make it...

Can someone describe what happened with US WE? How come the US with 67 in WE at the start of the session managed to reach 100 in just a few months?

A few lines in the MP AAR thread (if someone can find it?) would surely be appreciated... and almost mandatory. Think about the chicks digging it, guys!

House rules:

I'm posting the current house rules here...

Tech sharing
A maximum of 3 technologies can be shared per year (of any type) by each nation. Ie. 3 during 1939, 3 during 1940 etc. These can be sent any time during the year. To keep track of them they should be written down on a paper. You can only send tech to countries in your alliance. In case of more then 3 players on one side UK or Germany will be allowed to send an extra 3 techs as compensation. The western allies may not send any techs to the USSR.

Declarations of war:
The US may not DoW any state before 1941 even if reload bug or WE allows it.

Vichy France: (if human)
It’s the German player, not the French player who decides whether to got with Vichy France or total conquest. When this event comes up the French player should ask the German player what to pick. If France is played by AI the AI will decide for itself.

Supply and resources for neutral states:
Neutral states may not send resources to other states. A neutral state may not supply another states troops.

Paratroopers:
Obviously any paratroopers exploits aren’t allowed. Furthermore player countries may construct a maximum of 4 paratrooper divisions each. Also no paradrop is allowed unless the transport has full (100) org.

24 plane maximum per province.

General exploits
Are not allowed. Only the country that DoWs another state may annex it. (To prevent Italy from DoW for Germany to avoid WE fx. Players should play the game it was intended to be played and avoid possible exploits or be banned from the game.

I cant play tomorrow (29 may).

The US war entry was raised 10 points when Tomar chose Wendell Wilkie as president and a bunch of points when I let you take Stalingrad. ;) :)

EDIT: Did not the japanese join axis too? If so that should raise WE.

CAN play tomorrow Thursday at 18:00 CET

Re-read the house rules... Well we had been sharing only 3 tech in the allied camp, so I guess we can ramp up ..

Re the US dow, US did not dow anyone but joined the allies.. You may want to cover that as well...

Re US WE , frankly,,, Japan has been running amok and taking all of India (and vladivostock too)... Italy has been active in the ME, Germany grabbed Stalingrad and Kiev and other places in the USSR .. all of that outrages the good americans... Then as Jon mentionned, the elections in 1940 allowed for a more hawkish president... Result = US can join allies

Thank you for giving me an indication of what raised the US WE.

Stalinggrad, Vladivostok, Japans war entry and an event. I'm not saying the US shouldnt be in the war already. I was just asking why they could enter.

The tech sharing ruke really isn't very complicated at all. Each country can give 3 techs per year. Me, playing Germany can each year give a total of three techs to any of my allies, not to each ally of course. This goes for all player states. UK may only send one of their three techs allowed to USSR each year. The same goes for the US. I thought this was clear before we started playing the campaign and I hope I have embiggened (where from?) your understanding about this now. Do we all agree that this is how the rule should be? Sorry for being unclear.

Seems Nomen Nescio (aka Jon) can't make waves as USSR tomorrow thursday. If Måns or anyone else is interested in playing as standin for him post here or ICQ me or Jon.

EDIT: Italy has updated their AAR here:

Also this was said about the MR pact:

Whether or not to offer the MR Pact and then honor it (as Germany) depends on the game situation. Likewise, the USSR's response depends on the game situation.

There is no right answer to the MR Pact pre-game.

btw - choosing "no deals" and dishonoring the Pact give the Russians a freebee DoW (not 0 dissent but lower)

So actually the Russian DoW from the event is better than a normal one? Then I don't see why USSR was so badly off picking it?

Sorry. Edited and tried to clarify. Tell me if still unclear.

In your thread above the one you edited it says max 6 tech/year, so I guess some people may still be confused :)

EDIT: Now it says 3 per state. The text was taken from our original discussion thread and at start we considered using 6 per year, later lowered to 3. That move of our thread sure made things confusing. I hope I finally managed to get it all right?

Hey, you guys know your thread is in the Clan section, right?

This section is for North American gamers.

Not true. a "this means war" response is not a free dow, it is a normal dow. 10 dissent hit and no special consumer goods demand. (The special rule were USSR gets very low consumer goods demand if Germany dow USSR does not apply.)

1. Ok USSR war is a normal DoW

2. Tech share rule has been edited to exclude USSR from all tech sharing according to Jon (USSR). I sincerley dont remember this but it was a while ago and discussions went back and forth.

3. Jon has managed to find standins for tonight, thu 29/5 so we are on 18.00

4. Our other threads are back where they were from the start and I will repost this post there. My suggestion is that we continue there like before and close this thread and have an admin delete it in a few days.

Discussions have returned to this adress:
