Hello friends
Any existing mod that does this is terribly frustrating ...
Aside from being totally illogical, what better time to rebel against your lord than when he is at war?
Or to request that someone else be your vassal who is not going to disappear?
Regards

I thought you could already declare war on your overlord whilst either of you are war?
Are you a pacifist or have a defensive war policy?

The AI doesnt ever really do it as Vassal AI calculations are terribly set up, they dont get difficulty bonuses and wont attack you if they are weaker AND dont hate you.

You cannot ask him to release you during the war, and the casus belli expires, so you would have to continually ask it "just in case a war starts" for have the casus belli avaliable... a little tired and unnecesary :X

About Vassals well, example: U are thinking about start a war doing a vassal, but you cant ask/demant "be my vassal" when the other guy is on war (and everybody now how boring and large can be the AI wars....xD)

"be my vassal" when the other guy is on war (and everybody now how boring and large can be the AI wars....xD)
Ah I see. That would require some special events to work. It is not as straightforward as youre thinking, because other things are happening too. So lets say,
  • You are at war, with "Country C",
  • And I demand vassalisation of you + declare vassalisation war
  • I win the vassalisation
  • Now EITHER
    1. Your old war with country C ends, as you are no longer independent, the CB isnt valid.
    2. Your old war with country C CONTINUES under a "new war" - now Country C is fighting me for their old claims (if that CB are still valid).
      • And war exhaustion for this new war is either
        1. War exhaustion is reset for me and Country C
        2. War exhaustion for me = what it was when I vassalised you and War exhaustion for country C = what it was in its war with you, when I vassalised you.
This is just one example, more rules would be needed for different combinations of CBs. If you just enable vassalisation with how the game works now, without creating extra rules/events, it would probably cause crashes or break the AI (being stuck in eternal war etc).

I DO think Paradox should do this though, as I agree with you, its stupid to have so many restrictions on wars, it leads to easy "blobbing" making it hard for many small nations to attack a big one at the same time.
