The map before the Chicago Pact / Soviet Union war

This mod is a large-scale project, based off of the coming conclusion of Part 1 of my AAR. When my AAR ends in 1962, I plan to use the ending state of the world as a starting point for the mod.

To sum it up: The world is grim the democratic states. Unified under the banner 'the Chicago Pact', the Pact is currently at war with the Soviet Union, a post-Barbarossa union the includes India, China, Sibera, and Korea. The war has been brutual for both sides, with neiter having a clear hand. Australia currently sees the Red Army occupying the northern part of the country. Japan is a nuclear-destroyed wasteland, currently being held for political reasons.

Europe is a post-war German-victory partitioned continent. After a devastating war in which saw the destruction of much of eastern France and western Germany, peace came in 1953. German civilians fled east during much of the war, and quickly dominated the eastern provinces with settlers, an unintended side-effect, but welcomed by the German state. Britain suffers economic depression, having lost most of its industry in a nuclear exchange, and relies heavily on German assistance.

Africa has been split by the Axis states, with France retaining much of her colonies. Italy was another major-land gainer, taking much of Britain's former colonies.

South America is dominated by Argentina, and is on relatively good terms with the Axis. They lost their Axis status by their unsanctioned attack on Venezuela, which ended up in a stalemate after American support.

Objectives:

New Leader Database for major countries
New Tech Databases for major countries
Map modifications for the German Ostland.
New Tech Trees, covering 1962 - 2012
Starting scenario: An OOB based off of how the game ends on January 1st, 1962
Events for this time period
Elections for this time period

The mod is currently underway, though far from finished. If you would like to help, sign up at the forums located here:

*Note: You can view the forums without an account.

For those wishing to see more information on what the Mod will be coming from, a link to the AAR is located in my signature.

Anyone who knows the US Cabniet can help here. Helping with just one year is still a great help!

Fire, I hope you know that I love you.

Just for allowing me to take part in the world that you have created. (Is destroyed a better word?)

Destroyed...no...what is that word they call it? Dysotopic? That's better :p
I am having as much fun making + playing this as you guys are reading it, so its my pleasure :)

I am hoping that this mod does not become overwhelming. I seem to have found quite a few people willing to help out, so as long as I don't overload myself work on the mod will progress. After Christmas I have a week and a half of not much to do, so I should be able to put alot of the major stuff down before classes start again.

if there is some timeline, i could help for Korea Peninsula.

It is going to be designed for an free and open gameplay, meaning not much in the way for a timeline. Events will be added based on that goes on around the major countries. As it stands, I am currently in May 1961 in the AAR, and I do not need a Korean liberation by January 1st, 1962.

when do you think you are done with it?

I have no idea. I've never made a mod this size before. I would guess I could have much of the databases, depending on how much help I get, within a month.

I need people who can help with the US elections, people who know politics and the US cabinets from 1964 - 2012. With this done, that'd be about an entire third of the work for the US. Setting up the minister database is easy once I have the names, personalities, and ideologies of ever candidate and their cabinet.

That thread is located here:

US Cabinet Help Needed

Hi, I've read your AAR from top to bottom, it is excellent. :)

Now for some help:

Historical Presidents, ministers and chiefs of staff 1945 -> 2009:

Election events 2004 - 2018 (Made by Daniel Shannon)

Furthermore, here are several hundreds of ministers for the USA. - Should cover everything from 2000-2012 and even further. You need to change their startdates though, as they are in the 1003-1019 range. Also included are hundreds of military leaders which are active from the 80-90's to today. (Made by Daniel Shannon also)

Damn nice links, those will be very useful. I have not been able to get ahold of PC time due to Christmas and everything, but I will be back tomorrow to work on things again.

Those links will prove to be VERY useful, thanks again Killerrabit!

btw, glad you enjoyed the AAR. :D To go from start to finish this late in the AAR must be VERY time consuming.

Actually, I read most of your AAR in october. ;)

Anyway, I was thinking that it would be beneficial for you to use the MDS2 1.6 technology tree, units and models with corresponding graphics.

The MDS2 tech-tree and units run from 1965 to 2015, so it should be a perfect fit, since I assume that all majors have researched all techs in HoI2.

Examples of 1965 unit models in MDS2:

#USA:
1965 Main Battle Tank - M60 Patton
2nd Generation Long Range Multirole - F-106 Delta Darth
2nd Generation Short Range Multirole - F-104 Starfighter
1965 Strategic Bomber - B-52 Stratofortress
1965 Strike Fighter (tactical bomber) - F-111 Aardwark
1965 Destroyer - Charles F. Adams Class
1965 Frigate - Brooke Class
1965 Missile Cruiser - Belknab Class
1965 Carrier - Kitty Hawk Class
(Nuclear carrier - Enterprise Class)
1965 Nuclear Submarine - Thresher/Permit Class

#Soviet Union:
1965 Main Battle Tank - T-55
2nd Generation Long Range Multirole - Su-9 Fishpot
2nd Generation Short Range Multirole - MiG-19 Fresco
1965 Strategic Bomber - Tu-95 Bear
1965 Strike Fighter (tactical bomber) - Su-17 Fitter
1965 Destroyer - Kashin Class
1965 Frigate - Riga Class
1965 Missile Cruiser - Kara Class
1965 Submarine - Foxtrot Class
1965 Nuclear Submarine - November Class
1965 SSGN - Echo Class

Some changes needs to be done with Germany's model-setup, but it is not very far fethed that they would end up developing Leopard 1 and 2 Main Battle Tanks, for instance.

You still have a huge job with ministers, tech teams and leaders and OOB setup, but I think you can reduce the workload if you adopt what I proposed from Modern Day Scenario 2. ;)

Do you think they would have a problem with me using their tech tree? Because if we can get a tech tree like that, it would greatly reduce the work we have to do by...well...alot!

I guess I will have to contact them. If they agree, then all it will require is some slight modifications for the new scenario it is in. How much work are OOBs btw?

@Supalex: No idea, I guess I will figure that out when the time comes.

OOB's are major work, but as you have all the input data from your savefile you will know what to put where. I strongly recommend reducing army sizes of GER at least. There is no rationality in having 300 arm divisions...

And by my highly self-granted title of Modern Day Scenario 2 mod leader, I grant you premission to use what you like from our mod. ;):D

Yes, Germany will have its forces reduced, with much of its navy remaining intact however.

Many nations will need a scaling back of forces.

You are the project leader? Very nice. I thank you for your kindness and your offer. Thank you very much! :D

I do believe I will keep them at urban, but I am not sure yet. Have not got that far yet, it will be one of the last things in the mod I do.

Question to put out there.

Option 1) Make Mechanized a Brigade. This allows infantry to be upgraded to mechanized divisions, keeping your precious XP
Option 2) Make Mechanized a Division. Keep the same way that HoI II has done it.
Option 3) Both. Allow Mechanized Divisions, but also allow Mechanized Brigades. This way, people can upgrade their infantry to Mechanized if they wish to.

Once I get more work done + screens, I will be making an 'official' mod posting, with the official working title and current crew.

@Killerrabbit: As for the MDS2 Tech tree, I talked it over with other team members, and we decided to start from scratch (more personalized). Thank you for the offer, though. I might steal a few ideas from it :p
