I updated through Impulse. DH crashes as soon as I tried to load DH Full. Strangely DH light does run well. I uninstalled, deleted all left over files, then reinstalled but same deal. Any ideas?

The game does not start, you cannot start a new scenario or you cannot load a saved game?
BTW there is a hot-fix for 1.01 that should be installed to prevent save-game corruption in some languages (check the sticky thread at the Tech Support)

I'm using the english version. As soon as the game starts, it crashes (but not in light mode). I could not find the registry entry to delete in order to make a completely clean install. What are they?

That's weird. What does savedebug.txt say? Instant crashes are usually a stray letter somewhere.
Should be in the root directory for the mod (where ever that is for Impulse)

Martin should be able to provide a better answer though, I'm just a modder who had to deal with a ton of crashes self inflicted due to typos.

There's no such file. To be very precise, the screen that lets you choose single, multiplayer pops up. then when I select single or multiplayer, the game crashes. The windows 7 error windows gives this listing:

I have no idea what Registry keys are set by Impulse installer. Our installer uses HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Darkest Hour Team\Darkest Hour
What checksum do you get for Full?
If uninstall and clean installation does not help maybe it is worth to address the issue to Impulse.
It is at the top left part of the screen when you start the game (and before selecting any scenario).
It looks like this:
Darkest Hour v Y.YY (XXXX)
Where Y.YY is the version (1.00, 1.01 etc.) and XXXX is the checksum (ABCD, BBEE etc.)

Yes, the checksum is the correct one.

Impulse just replied (yep, they are soooo fast). They just sent me a generic message asking to contact you!

Do you have any clue if someone else that bought the game from Impulse has a problem too? So far you're the only one reported such problem here and unfortunately I have no information if there are other people that bought the game from Impulse.

You can try the 1.01.1 patch installer that can be found on the stickied thread. It will at least ensure that you have a properly patched game
