Does anyone actually know? I remember it was bandied about at one point that you'd be able to use U[XX] with XX being either letters or numbers or both - but I am unaware as to whether that was for AoD or just a dream of mine.

I asked the same question too. They said that in order to keep compatibility with older mods, they had to keep the limit from U00-U69

Are there any plans to allow the use of tags such as (for example) UUU - in line with the existing U-letter tags from Armageddon? I must sound crazy, but I've had a couple of ideas that would want more than 200-something nations. <.<

No, it is not planned to add more custom TAGs. It is piece of cake from development point of view to add a TAG or a hundred or more, but there are still unused TAGs in DH Full/Light and there is full Moddir support so any mod can re-define all TAGs without breaking other scenarios. Last, but not the least - every added TAG slows down the game (in theory, today computers are fast enough, so it won't be noticed) and increases memory usage which will affect all players with close to 0 benefit from that.

EDIT:
Of course I'll reconsider this decision if/when a popular or promising mod develops to a point where more TAGs are really needed :)

- Justtttt how many tags are potentially possible, and can they be added to a single mod without causing drag on others?
