I dubt it.

This is a well known theory in Nova Scotia and they have been digging for it for years, especially at Oak Island where there are large man made tunnels of unknown construction. Nothing found yet.

One would imagine that if the Templars had taken the Holy Grail, there would have been some records of it. After all, the capture of the Holy Lance during the first Crusade was certainly made clear.

And of course there must first be a grail to capture.
There must have been, since otherwise the Pope wouln'd have turned against the templars, wouldn't it?;)

To my knowledge, there is a templar-church built into the rock in Spain. Like all templar buildings, it served the dual purpose of fortress and church. Anyway, among other things, one of the relics that is mentioned in a medieval document is a "stone cup".
Unfortunately, this document lists artifacts, but doesn´t give explanations. One of the items listed is a spear...
One theory is that this cup is the original "grail". Which most likely was a fake anyhow... ;)

The templars also build some churches in Ethiopia, which you can still visit. About the grail: I think there are more theories about it than there are on politics. The problem with the grail is that there is no proof it ever existed so every theory on it has no basis whatsoever.

They are talking about that theory on that site too I think.

I have in my posession the Tower of London. Any bids?

The "real" Holy Grail - the cup from which Jesus served wine at the Last Supper - was a crappy wooden bowl provided by a no-account Jerusalem innkeeper. It would have rotted inside 50 years, let alone 12 centuries :D

One probable explanation for the Holy Grail is that its a later "invention" during, in the dark ages, circa 800 ad, during the christianization of the celts, the monks took part of their religion and adapted it to fit in the christian belief. The cup that its always filled with wine and the invincible lance are of cleary celtic origin. (But, beside that , there are others that have a material existence, like the lance that the crusades took from Antioquia during the pillage and the Carlomagno's lance, every one supposed to be the Holy Lance, or the Destiny's Stone, recently moved from England to Scotland).
But the myth of the Holy Grail that we know nowadays is based on the King Arthur's legends. And it have little to do with the Templars.

But groups of people throughout history have always laid claim to ancient myths to support their existence. Laying claim to the possession of secret knowledge or a mythic object is a good way to lend yourself legitimacy.

Very doubtful...

Indeed, if the Templars had the knowledge to cross the Atlantic, and with their vast wealth, why did they not construct fortresses and churcehs in the New World, and prevent their order from complete destruction? Furthermore, if they did indeed have the Grail, why would they not speak of it? Remember that Europe was highly religious at this point, if you brought back the Grail, you could recruit entire cities to join you.
