So, was randomly googling Diego Garcia today (I was curious about the name), and found that the Maldivians had a traditional name for the archipelago it sits in.
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chagos_Archipelago :
In Maldivian lore the whole group is known as Fōlhavahi or Hollhavai (the latter name in the Southern Maldives Adduan dialect of Dhivehi).
So would probably make sense to rename the base province name "Folhavahi" - obviously it wasn't until the Portuguese came by that 'Diego Garcia' (or the 'Chagos Archipelago', for that matter) became a thing. Seems like a job for dynamic province naming!
