Difference Between "Damage 5%" and "Unit Damage 5%"

Can anyone please tell me the difference between the two? These are options you get when you level your hero.

one counts the damage for the hero done by the hero, one counts for the damage of the units guarding the hero. Hope this helps. Same goes for the HP
