Hey All,

Winding down at work for the last hour, and realized that there is an AGCEEP site, however, it naturally states that the version on the site is not compatible with the version used in FTG.

Out of curiosity, is there any major differences between the one posted on the website and this one here?

thanks,

yes

on FTG , AGCEEP is version 1.57..........and on AGCEEP site its version 1.58

1.58 for EU2? Really? I just checked the website and the AGCEEP in the «old» EU2 forum and it's not mentioned...

Witch one is better with AGCEEP EU 2 or FtG

No witch is better. All witches are evil and must be burned at the stake. ;-)

The last version of AGCEEP for EU2 is fun to play - however it probably won´t be updated anymore.

The FtG version of AGCEEP contains everything the EU2 AGCEEP version had and is currently still being worked on. Additionally FtG allows much more freedom for a mod adding several commands that EU2 did not have and that are great to have to better script events for a mod.

So should I get AGCEEP? Can I still convert to Vic 1?

AGCEEP should implement a new map.

Apart from the novelty of having a new map, why? I've never found the map as it is to be particularly wanting to the point of requiring a complete overhaul.

Several mods have used diverting maps and even if those maps have their own issues (e.g. the DoK map has no America and so can work only for pre-columbus ages) they are fun to watch and play at least once.

There is nothing wrong with the vanilla map in use - if you take into consideration that it´s not meant as an EXACT historical and geographical map. As far as I see that map the designers wanted to have a map for play, well knowing that it´s impossible to have an exact map.
The historical borders so often shifted by conquering some cities there, adding a strip of land there, having 300 mini-states in the holy roman empire of german nation of which none alone covered even one of the provinces in the game - or having exclaves of your own state in some other states, that no cut of provinces could provide truly historical borders from 1419 to 1819.

Additionaly not all coastlines or riverbeds have existed unchanged for 400 years. At the north sea coast alone the "grote Mansdrenke"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grote_Mandrenke
changed the coastline massively by destroying whole islands and sinking several villages and cities. So while some people seem to want a 100% exact satellite map be used for the game it would be just as wrong as the existing map that simplifies both borders, rivers and coastline.

I completely agree. I have never bothered with the map, not with the fact that Paradox made a huge blunder in the map in the region i'm from. I can understand those of you that needs a new map to motivate you into further mapping, but I've never bothered with modding so the map has never been an issu for me.
