Ok im new, i like Paradox games a lot, playing HOI3:Semper Fi and its GREAT, but now im unsure about difference:

Whats Difference between Victoria 2 and Europa Universalis 3, whats difference
in gameplay and game goals?

As simply as I can put it:

Europa Universalis runs from 1399 to 1836; politics is about the ambitions, squabbles, egos and power of kings and princes. The game is about enriching the state and making it more powerful; the state is embodied in the ruler - 'the people' only figure as being "quiescent" ("stable") or not.

Victoria runs from 1836 to 1936; politics is about the relationship between the ruler and the ruled. Economics is changing, ignorance is shifting from being the norm to being a life hindrance. The challenge is to transform your country from a land of backward, ignorant peasants to an industrial powerhouse of educated craftsmen, clerks and bureaucrats that strides the world stage - preferably without having the whole thing crash in a massive popular uprising!

EU is about the dealings of Kings - Victoria is about the fates of nations. That's about as succinctly as I can put it, I think.

EU3 is about external politics - diplomacy between hundreds of nations, wage war, build your empire, etc. Yes, there's internal stuff too, but it's not the focus.

Vicky 2, if it's anything like Vicky 1 (and I haven't been keeping up with the Development diaries) is about internal politics. Keep your people in line, industrialize your nation, grow your economy, and war's secondary to that.

(And of course they're in different time periods.)

One more question (if i may? :)

Whats difference between

Arsenal of Democracy and Hearts of Iron II Complete?

Does AoD* include all expansion packs from HOI2 Complete?

Which one should i take if i wanna play good HOI2 from beginning.

thanks in advance

Hearts of Iron Anthology contains Hearts of Iron, Hearts of Iron II, Hearts of Iron II: Doomsday and Booster Pack: Armageddon.
(source: Gamespot and Puolenkuun Pelit)

According to Wikipedia, AoD is "a grand strategy wargame that is based on Hearts of Iron II and its Europa engine." The article keeps comparing the
features to the original HoI2, so I don't know if it contains the all the stuff from the expansions too.

However, this DevDiary (http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=447424) seems to compare it to Armageddon.
I hope somebody can give a better answer than me.

AoD is as someone said, HoI2 on steroids.
If you don't own any HoI2 games, then you should pick AoD.
The only annoying thing is that most major mods are compatible with Hoi2 but not with AoD, but that's being worked on.
Imo, AoD is better than HoI2 with all its expansions.:)

To make AoD we started with HoI2 with all of the expansion modules to Armageddon, and all of the patches with the exception of the recent Armageddon patch done by coreymas and friends. We then modified that as described in the Dev.Diaries in an attempt to improve it - according to some folk on our forum, we succeeded, but you should be aware that AoD is in several ways a different game than HoI2:Arma (and HoI3, for that matter). If you decide to buy it, we sincerely hope you'll enjoy it!
