Hi, my friend just downloaded the steam version of Hearts of Iron 2 and we were hoping to set up some multiplay, however he cannot connect because we have different versions. My checksum is JCJS, whereas my friend has XLIF. Is there a simple way of fixing this problem? Thanks.

First make sure that you both have the same exact game installed, HOI2 Doomsday. Then goto gamersgate.com and buy the armageddon upgrade for 5 USD. Then patch it up to 1.2 vblv. That is the most popular version people are playing now until HOI3 comes out. Then if you are interested in 2v2 or 3v3 games, post a new thread with the details and people will join. Hope that helps. You could always do a search for the 1.3a JCJS and see if that patch is still out there, I think it is. :)
