Dip screen - unk string wanted

Any one else have this problem with 1.05c?

I've tried to install the 1.05c patch twice,
and both times everything seems to be working,
until I go to the diplomacy screen and there's
a happy little box there, instead of diplomatic options,
it merely says...

"Unknown String Wanted"

I'm not a computer genius, but it this an installation process?
Anyone else run into this whilst patching up?

My suggestion is to uninstall the game completely. Then reinstall from CD, then install 1.05, then unzip 1.05C to the HOI directory.

Did that the second time,
I must be unzipping incorrectly or something.

Not once it is done correctly.

1) Install 1.05
2) Download 1.05C.
3) Beta files do not have an auto installer. Therfore you must unzip them into the HOI folder.
4) You should select "overwrite All" option when unziping.
5) Also select "Maintain Directory structure" or "keep directory names" however it is worded on your program that unzips files. If using XPs built in unzipper, then this is automatic.
6) THat's it you are done, enjoy playing the new patch.

Ok, there's the problem...

5.) - Where do I select "maintain directory structure," et al?
I am using WinME, and although I looked in the tool-box
after a right-click on the mouse, I do not see those options.

Kindly forgive my utter lack of knowledge of these arcane
computer thingys.

Depends what program you are using to unzip the file.

I have got the same Bug.
It came with 1.05c so there must be a mistake.
Installation was correct-

Well you two are the only ones that have reported it. It seams to work for everyone else.

You could ask in the bug forum, they might know.

Does this happen for all countries you select or just your own? If it's just your own that is probably the new 'liberate puppet' button. That suggests you are running the 1.05c hoi.exe but the 1.05c text.csv did not get unpacked to the right place.

What program are you using to extract the zip file?
