Diplomacy map save problem

If I save the game with the diplomacy map showing, the loaded game will only let me view the diplomacy map and not change views. I have the 1.08 patch. Is there a work around for this? I've tried saving in regular view, of course, but in this instance I went too long and relied on the autosave... which was in diplomacy view of course.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Next to the Diplomatic button (the left) is another button for normal view. Click on that and you will be OK.
