In my prison, the employees' dirty trays are regularly piled up, at some point individual trays are no longer picked up and suddenly the queue is in the task list. I even tried different tools for the problem but the dirty objects can't be removed no matter what I do, whether dismissing cooks, tearing everything down and throwing it away or using the dev mod to delete all trays, the "damaged" queue remains and the "bad" trays Also, even the floor is locked so that I can't even build a foundation on the box on which the tray lies. building a second kitchen or building everything from scratch doesn't help either.
The problem is serious because it destroys the entire kitchen process and thus the prison.

I always played without mods only when the error appeared again and again in the self-created prison after restarting three times I loaded the devmod via steam but even this could not help me to remove the trays that caused the error.

The game continues, but the functions of the kitchen are disrupted and no more trays are washed.

When using the dev mod I tried all the commands, all the trays and objects that are not affected are removed or can be moved, only the trays with the error are not. there are mostly 3, 4 or 5 trays that should either be stored on the table or in the sink, but nothing happens, the task remains standing and the cooks cannot work on them

I just can't play the game anymore, which is a shame when I invest hours in a prison and then it breaks because of a bug like that.

I figured it out. I had the problem for the past 15 months and it was driving me crazy. And the workaround solution is very simple.
If kitchen and canteen/staff canteen are not separate rooms, e. g. surrounded by walls and instead using a shared room, e. g. kitchen on the left and canteen/staff canteen on the right without any walls or doors between, food trays may end up on the floor. If the floor does not belong to the kitchen, they will remain there forever and pile up, until staff complain, that they are getting no more food.

The workaround: Assign the floor, with the piled up food trays to the kitchen and cooks will jump from everywhere and remove it / clean it.

Still, I consider this behavior as a bug. Cooks should also pick up food trays from non-kitchen areas and I would appreciate it, if this bug could be fixed.

Thank you, I'll try it once if it's a solution for me. I also have to agree with you that it's still a bug even if it's on the walls and doors. It needs to be fixed by Paradox it can't be that cooks are unable to organize their routine because of a wall or door
