Disappearing Leaders

In my game, I am playing as Bulgaria, every time I try to switch around my leaders this happens: The one that I already have controlling my units disappears when I switch him for another leader.

Has any one else had this happen to them, or am I the only one?

Happens for me to when playing just about any nation. Not for all leaders though. I'm using 1.3 without the latest patch (1.3a).

Have you auto-assign leaders turned on? If yes, then the leader you just released may have been assigned to another unit.

The missing leaders were not in a command of another unit, I checked. And I am using patch 1.3a.
