I got my copy of Victoria today, patched it to 1.01 via Strategy Firsts site, and tried it out - it looks pretty neat. However, the display for the game (past the intro movies) is really distorted - it only covers about 75% of the available screen space and warps towards the edges. I am guessing this is not so much a programming bug as an issue of some sort with hardware, but does anyone have ideas on how to fix this? I'm running Windows XP with 512 MB of RAM, 2.4 ghz processor. I installed the Directx 9 version included on the CD and went to Microsofts website for their latest Directx 9.0b update, but that hasn't helped things. If anyone has any solutions would much appreciate some advice!

This only happens to me if I alt-tab during loading and/or internet explorer is running at the same time. Was this the case with your problem

No, the only application I was running was Victoria. I tried tweaking around with various resolutions and stuff, and it does take up the whole screen at the highest of the two resolutions you can set via the options file in the Victoria folder. So I guess the problem is half solved....next is to try and get it taking up the whole screen with the preferred resolution.
