I have only recently started to try to get into mods, DLCs and Growables and I am looking to understand what these resources are and what they do to the game.

in the game, a building is either a 'growable', like a house in a residential zone i.e. it grows.

or a ploppable like a school. you plop it down.

no. you zone the area and a building appears. that's a growable.

i just told you, using a school as an example. schools don't grow. you have to plop them down,
