I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldnt find the answer. does +20% from plains add to/stack with a +50% food from granary or should I use +% terran for farms only

They only effect tiles with a raw yield amount. This is also true of squares with penalties. So putting a Granary on a -50% food square, +1 upkeep square, only gives +1 upkeep, which isn't too terrible at all.

Fenryder:
that % boost applies to the building.
So a pig farm on grass would generate 7.2 food (additional 3.6 from granary), while on desert or snow it generates 5 (additional 2.5 from granary).
So effectively, yes that boost value does apply to the % increase buildings.

I'm pretty sure he was asking if a granary on a fertile plain gives even more food, which it does not.
