Hello! I recently got Crusader Kings 3 on Steam, however I am having some doubts as I have heard stories of either the game or launcher itself not working. I have played HOI4 but i've never edited in game settings through the launcher. So, I have came to ask if the Paradox Launcher game settings for Crusader Kings 3, and more specifically windowed mode, works?

My GPU is: RTX 3060 12gb
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D
I am just putting this here incase I have issues lol.

I haven't heard that they don't work. What's not working for you?

Nothings not working per say, I just like- Got a new PC and its the first time booting up CK3 so I had some questions and stuff.
I like to play new games I get in windowed mode so I know they work, and that way, if they dont, I can easily close them down and stuff.
It makes my life easier and makes it so I can also like, more easily tab out when I need to.

Some more questions btw:
- Does the resolution mean I can play CK3 In 720P in windowed mode
- How long does the game take to load
- What is a recommended character to start off with?

No one can tell you how long the game will take to load on your rig. Why don't you just start up the game and see for yourself? For me, loading up the game took ca. 112 seconds the last time I checked. About the launcher: I've used the launcher for years and haven't had any issues. It's important to note though that you can also access all settings in game that the launcher provides. I personally tweak all the settings in game and not via the launcher, so I can't say how well that works specifically. I basically just use the launcher to manage my mods and to launch the game itself and that works like a charm.

As far as starting characters go, Petty King Murchad in the 1066 start date is always a solid choice for a first playthrough. Jarl Haesteinn in 867 isn't bad either as he starts small, but with some helpful special troops at his disposal. In general, starting with a feudal character who only holds little land and is surrounded by mostly their own culture and religion makes things easier for a first playthrough.
