Hi

If I buy a panzerschrek for a mission it comes in a 251 armed with a 37mm gun. What has to survive the mission for this unit to be available for the next mission?

BTW, finding it hard to save the 88s in Ouistreham. I saved much of the garrison by putting 2 X old French tanks and 2 X 250/9 (armed with 20mm cannon) plus an ammo truck. But the 88s get stomped.

Great game.

Hi, glad you enjoy the game :) I dont know a definitive answer but by common sense the whole unit should survive to continue into the next map. A small tip for holding Ouistreham is putting up som heavy arty, if i remember correctly you do have access to a reheinwerfer rocket artillery, its will stop anything in its tracks. which in turn will let ur 88s live longer.

Yes, Artillery, great idea!

Thinking about game development, it would be too much trouble for developers matching up vehicles and transported troops at the end of a combat AND expecting players to get why their troops did not carry over. I guess that they go with the transported troops and then give them a ride regardless to keep things simple. I also guess that one single surviving man in a unit is enough to see the unit carry over.

In campaign games for table top I've seen complicated systems where the count of men, equipment in the pool, whether you held the battlefield (so able to recover eqipment), return of survivors from previous battles, reinforcements (if any) all feed into the new ORBAT. If Paradox had a system like that it would throw up a lot of contraversy that would upset some people. So my guess is that they made it simple and generous.

Either the halftrack or the panzershrek squad. If one of the two survives the unit is not killed. In a later mission you have to transit units through a map. units seem to be paired when one of the units leave through the exit zone the other unit in the pair disappears (teleports out).

no you want to auto cannon rush a 25 pdr and shoot down the spitfire bomber
and keep both 88 resupplied
also you have to shut down the commando blobs before they get close to the 88
it's slightly harder to have 0 unit loss on the garrison but doable

You are saying artillery is not best but rather 20mm auto cannons are best? Are you saying to rush 250/9s out of the garrison and hit British 25pdr artillery?

My 20mms hurt them badly but were eventually overwhelmed.

"Either the halftrack or the panzershrek squad. "

Thanks. I thought it would be that way.

You can get zero loss on garrison by deploying all your starting points up there and attacking hard, then butchering all the British infantry as it tries to cross the open field.
