Does the new fallen hive declare a rivalry on your behalf?

I have never declared them a rival, but they keep demanding humiliation (drop the rivalry) from me. Why? I never declared them a rival in the first place! Is this a bug? Or are they just unhinged and it's part of the roleplay?

All fallen empires will demand humiliation if you make them mad. (Except maybe the machine one? Not sure about them. Never tried annoying them. Honestly I try not to annoy any FE until mid game when I conquer them with a surgical strike.) The list of concessions just states everything that they want from you. It also applies the humiliation modifier for 10 years, one of the side effects of which is losing rivalries. If you aren't rivals, you won't lose any, but aside from the debuffs you get from humilition the other things on the list only apply if it's something you've done. For example, I recently made the control splinter mad because I did not want to make my borders pretty by abandoning the system they wanted me to, and it specifically stated humiliation would mean I lose all claims and rivalries on them. I was less than a century in. I had no claims or rivalries on them.

ok i was confused and thought a bug had made them mad by giving me a rivalry, but they were just mad. they wanted to terraform one of my worlds or something (don't know what it would have done), but game literally didn't allow it because i'm environmentalist lol

I got that one recently. I don't know if there is more than one outcome because I only got it that one time but it turned it

white and luminescent. Not the model on the map but the event pop up said every plant and animal was genemoded to glow and that it was so bright I had to hand out blackout curtains because night wasn't really a thing anymore.

It gives you the option to undo it (which angers them) or leave it. I left it as a funny lore moment, but it gives a negative modifier to the planet that reduces immigration to the planet and something else which I can't remember off the top of my head.
