Playing as British Empire in only my second TGW game, (first time as A-H I got steamrollered). Very quickly after war is declared I find my convoy transports dissappearing fast. Less than two months of war and most convoys are running on red through lack of ships.....thats if the convoy is still running at all  . Messages flood in one straight after another of sunk convoys 20+ ships at a time in some cases. Is this wad?

I'm off to report a bug too. Loaded my newly formed inf divs onto transports to take to France and they dissapeared from the game :( .

Maybe you should emulate First Sea Lord Admiral Jellicoe in 1917 and provide some protection for your merchant shipping, and create convoys in the true sense of the word?

As for your disappearing army - I've no idea.

By the way, I'm very angry about a new thread having been started when this could have been asked in a more appropriate place. :) But fortunately, I have decided not to vent my anger in a fearsome manner, but I have chosen to maintain a steady exterior. :)

Sorry Allenby, but I thought this was the appropriate place? :eek:o .

In that case I shall keep up this masterful facade of perfection that convey to you all :p

I'm not sure about giving countries an abundance of transports when they didn't have them. Suddenly players will be capable of pulling off spectacular amphibious assaults straight from the off...

The Commonwealth has more then enough transports at the start of TGW. Your problem I expect stems from the fact you let the German High Seas Fleet escape from the North Sea and run ammok on your convoys. This latest version of TGW they have started to sortie before war breaks out, so once you see them escape you have to pursue with adequate forces.

To get enough resources to Britain you also have to convert transports to cponvoys early one. Before war breaks out I usually have converted about half my transports and ordered a few new ones as well (if you need convoys only, order the oldest type as it's cheaper and faster to build).

And if you ever run out of convoys, close down unimportant ones to keep the other going. Also remember to streamline your convoy routes (3 parallel routes are a nice gift to the German raiders, a single regularly patrolled convoy line is the German's nightmare on the other hand).

Marc aka Caran...

Something strage about the convoy thing:
Playing as Germany the entire fleet ran out to destroy the British convoy transports after having defeated the Royal Navy in several though battles. (Great thing those naval battles btw!)
And the convoys hurt me terribly. After several days streght was low and no organization left so I had to retreat. I think this can't be that gigantic Battlefleets are havily damaged by a few transports...
Maybe this is an 1.06 issue but it would be great if it could be relieved a bit...
But great work your mod I like it very much. No CTDs at all. :)

I think he means the convoy transports ( the transports = xxx line in the country.inc files) not the actual transport ship units. Perhaps double each country's starting value?

Sounds fair enough :)

While we are at it, can we double my coolness factor? :D
