I understand the communication from PDX that there will be no more CONTENT.

There are still some really annoying bugs in game ruining the experience.

For example subjects going disloyal when you disband levies and co rulers being pissed off because they are unemployed.

Is there any chance these will be fixed? I assume the game is still a SUPPORTED product even if no more content is expected 2021?

Given that there are no more active developers for Imperator: Rome, I would say: no, at least not for now, maybe if at some point they have some downtime on other projects they could make some quick hotfixes, but I would not get my hopes up for that.

They just said they dissolved the team. There may be some kind of maintenance/support organization/budget for games in their portfolio with no active project team.

There will be no bug fixing unless the bugs present a security risk, like the most recent Victoria II patch.
Welcome to "not in active development" may we offer you an insultingly extended period with no sequel?

You have any PDX source that there will be no bug fixes for IR?

Some of the stuff reported in the bug forum is quite game ruining. Would they really just leave a quite new game in this state?

They have no development team. Nobody is working on the game for at least one year.

The statement said:
- Imperator team split up
- No new QoL and content

You do not need a full project team to fix software bugs. Please share the quote where they say they dropped support of the Imperator product.

@Dnote can we have a clarification?

I'd assumed not, given the dissolution of the team that's used to working with the game.
Dnote made a comment in another thread:
"Just to clarify, we're not expecting new content to turn up before the end of the year (maybe some fixes, we'll see)"

I doubt you will get any information beyond that.

I imagine like mod support, bug fixes might be something the new team could work on while being onboarded.

So IF PDS is serious about planning to continue development and IF they can get the devs they are looking for we might see a bugfix patch in the second half of the year or so (more likely fourth quarter).

I hope they will fix some bugs because that's what made me stop the game. I haven't been able to play a full game since 1.3 I believe, the fault of the bugs which spoils my pleasure .

Maybe if the game had fewer bugs (annoying) there would be more players in the game ...
Instead of adding content, make sure players can play properly.

I don't think there will be Patches any time soon. Like they said - they don't have anyone working on Imperator.

Hhhm, it seems like I've seen this exact thing happen in another game Paradox have that statrs with EU and ends with 4

Imho although there are some bugs in the current version i don't think they are enough to make the game unplayable. Sure there are a few that can hit you really hard like an ally's never ending civil war but all in all I think you can have a solid run. To be honest my most disliked feature atm is rulers in monarchies being unable to lead legions (even if it is supposed to be WAD).

the devs stated literally "maybe some patches" in that thread.

The bug you cite, I consider it "annoying" in a part although I never had it.

I was thinking in particular of the prisoners who arrive in your faction following the conquest of a state. Which lowers stability.

So of course all these "little" bugs do not prevent me from playing but as I said, they spoil my pleasure of playing, which pushes me to stop playing.

And frankly after a while (2 years now) I would like to be able to play a game without annoying bugs.

The first Paradox game I buy, I can't play it correctly and it's more or less canceled. :)

Edit: Mission bugs in addition to recurring translation issues (French).
I wasn't thinking of buying a game from an indie studio...
;)

Atrocious by paradox to cancel bug support too, all due to poor management. @dnotes quick to blame a lack of devs and lots of openings in the teams, maybe they should address why people don't want to work at paradox first, and why current devs leave poor reviews of the studio.

Just to be clear I do not consider the game to be bug free nor do I state that it shouldn't be receiving bug fixing patches in the following year (whether active development will continue or not). However I cannot consider the current version game breaking in regards to bugs. I understand that is something that is definitely up to player "interpretation" of game breaking though.

Also probably this continuous type of game development that Pdx uses for its games (for better or for worst) tends to sometimes create new bugs even if the older ones are stamped down.

I would be grateful if @Dnote or a member of the old dev team @Snow Crystal could confirm to us that bug fixing patches will continue even at a slower pace.

QoL includes minor bug fixes. Literally "Quality of Life". So small bugs that don't affect the actual ability to play the game. If there were some seriously and truly game breaking bugs like the new Leviathan update and DLC then yes, you would probably see them fix those problems, but small annoyances are generally classified as QoL improvements.

Given all the internal reorganisational changes within paradox, and the statement given it's fair to say that the IR team is running at very low capacity, when they said the project is on 'hold' I think this means exactly what it says. All work has been halted until either A) A new team with new hires is put on it or B) The project will be cancelled indefinitely.

I'm fairly certain that also means, no more patches will be made for this game until the future of this game is decided.
